Do you know what I hear? That only MASS DOT can legally put up speed limit and other such TRAFFIC signs up. That the city doesn't have that authority. There are only two streets where they are approved, MAPLE being one of them.
I've heard that in regards to several traffic issues in Lynn, and especially in regards to modern "traffic calming" techniques. It's funny, though, how other municipalities are able to get these things, while we just say that we can't because the state...
And that is a good thing - wish the state stayed away from Lynnfield Street - never had traffic tie ups in the middle of the day like you do with that new traffic light and to think Lynn wanted another light by Great Woods Ave too - the city is not practical and would over do it if they had the authority to do so.
